CC Cycle Club Meet and Greet a Success!

The Meet and Greet was a success!  We now have 30 new members to the CC Cycle Club.  We had a good turnout of about 50 people.  Guests enjoyed pizza and  a small introduction to our club.  Remember, if you are a non-member, you have the opportunity to join directly on the site through our individual and family membership options.  Just click on the paypal buttons on our site if you have not yet joined our club.

If you don’t want to use paypal, there is a credit or debit card option on the paypal page.  You can also send a check to our organization and make checks payable to:

We hope you will take the time to join our club.  Your participation will be vital to the growth and development of many projects that will affect the cycling community and cycling in South Texas.  There are some exciting developments that our club will be participating in this year that include promotion of the Integrated Community Sustainability Plan for Corpus Christi – Bicycle Mobility Concepts, hike and bike trails and much more.

The club will continue to send Newsletters and updates to all of our quickrelease members including both club and non-club members.  However, club members  will have special access to our group spaces “FORUMS” and group spaces site, which will be vital part of the club in providing feedback to upcoming events and projects.    Also, only club members will be able to participate in special events sponsored by the club.

The Forums are a special part of the group spaces site that allows member participation in a variety of topics.  One of our goals this year will be to map out new routes and rides and your feedback and input is vital to this project.  One of our goals will be to attract new riders to the Corpus Christi area and provide a safe and scenic roadway for our area visitors.  Input from our club to include local surveys of our present routes and notifying the club of road way conditions, etc. will move us in the right direction.  This information will be relayed to our city planners and local and state groups such as TxDOT.  We want the club to play a vital role in providing this information from our area riders.  We can actually have a hand in roads on chip-seal issues and providing a shoulder on upcoming projects such as re-pavements that will allow for a smooth riding shoulder on area roads.  The city cannot do such things without our in-put and support.

We hope to also attract club members by our inclusive insurance program.  Club participants will be covered under our club insurance, which means , if you are injured  in one of our events, medical expenses may be covered for any injuries or mishaps sustained in that event.  That also includes any sponsored club ride or special event put on by the CC Cycle Club.

Photos of the meet and greet are now posted to our group spaces site.

We want to thank everyone who participated in the event.  Our next meeting will be held on February 13th with the location and time TBA.  We will also be updating the site and posting some new information concerning the ISC Plan and presentation that will take place at Sunrise Mall on Tuesday, January 24th at 6:30pm.

See everyone on the roads and ride safe!
